I became a member of Douglas Church on August 4, 1946 at the age of eleven, in the white wooden frame church with no Sunday school rooms. I was born and raised less than a mile from the church so we always came on Sundays!
I have so many memories at Douglas--attending as a child, getting married in the church, and being present when my two children became members. The love, friendship, and fellowship of the people in the congregation are my favorite parts of the Douglas Church family. Most of all, I love the pastor's sermons and being part of the choir where I sing praise to the Lord! God has been by my side through my life's journey. There have been good times and hard times, but He has been right there with me all the way. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). |
I first came to church when I mom brought me soon after I was born, and that was 15 years ago!
My favorite part about being part of the Douglas Church family is the kindness and caring thoughts of others. I also love going to youth group and being able to talk to others about anything going on in life. God has led me through a deep, dark forest to find light in my heart. He has allowed me to find "The Way" as well as have a good time with everyone at Douglas Church. My favorite event every year is the Fall Festival. I like this event because people get to gather and play games, while we auction craft items to help the Adopt A School ministry. |
